Free food rarely means free food any more

I wanted to post more but this tour has been pretty grueling. This is the second time on this tour that we have been promised to be fed dinner. We look forward to those sort of things. Both of these times there was no food. Oh yeah, and the booker/manager was not there. We are in arkansas. It happened in Pensacola as well.
A quick recap as best as possible. We were not supposed to play Tallahassee but the other bands said we should. We probably should not have because no one was in cahrge and it sounded aweful. We left and drove at night to pesacola at the pipebomb house. They were away but we made ourselves at home. We played an unnamed coffee shop, did not get fed and played to no one. Needless to say pensacola doesn,t get along with us very well. We left, drove in the night to kims in baton rouge. Kim is amazing and her house is our favorite place to stay away from home. We went to New Orleans the next morning and checked out the french quarter. It is probably for the best we saw very little of the damaged part. I am not sure I could have handeled it.
That night we played in Lafayette. We played to a few drunks but got fed and sold some stuff. Artmosphere is a cool place where people are nice but we need to find a local. We went back to kims with a new friend and crashed. We drove in traffic to San antonio. We love SA with all its punks and Ray (without two foot mowhawk.) We played a rowdy apartment show and it was a blast. Everyone loved Ivan and GUITARBOMB. Needless to say we got treated well. Friday we hung out with Lew in Austin. We played baesball in the park, skiped stones and journey. We ate dinner in his shack of a house. We played an afterthought house show that was mediocre at best. A white man from Africa closed out the night. Saturday we drove to shreveport...to be continued.

I Con Fest

After we left NC we headed down to Tampa for two days to play with the stick martin show. i am always nervous about these shows and they always turn out to be a blast. Chris Mikey and Ivan went over recording stuff. It looks like in about a years we will have several recording options when thinking about an album.  During the second show a drunk  women fell over  onto the stage and  knocked everything over. This ended the first set.  At the end of the last set The stick martin show, ivan and mikey all rocked out together. I am sorry this was not on video. We ended up selling a ton of shrts and a good amount of cds. it worked out welll for our first two shows.
We picked up some new fans on this show. Under any circumstances do not click here to see one of our new friends. Again don't say i didn't warn you.
Then we headed up to the Fest in Gainesville. It nearly killed us but it was a great time by all. 180 bands, two house partys, 23 bracelets, lots of beers, friends from all over the US, the plan-it z kids, an amazing set by the ERGS, too many other awesome sets to even start to list, very little sleep, a van floor and two floors of shared room, an oil change, Vegan Lew, and we ended up in Tallahassee. I think that about covers it. Thank you no idea.

back in the dirty dirty south

guitar bomb and crew are hitting up durham once again and i am once again being a gracious host.  i made them pesto pasta and a nice big salad. the dishes have been stacked up post-dinner for about an hour. we'll see if anyone makes a move towards the sink. the guys from crafty records are nice, but i have a feeling they might just eat and run. atleast they bought the beer. i haven't had a beer in weeks and i have a wicked buzz. i've got shit to do so i'm not gonna say much except i'm honored that durham is the first stop on 'the don't stop dead' tour. safe travels. tennessee.

dont stop dead tour begins

Its the end of the first night of tour. There was no show but we drove to NC to hang out with tennesee - our friend from our last nc excursion. We watched a bunch of Katrina documentaries at her work and heard survivors tell their storie. it was pretty intense, We are going to make a point to spend a day in NO on this tour. It has been too long. This is the first time Ivan and Mikey are touring together. We officially ate taco bell for the last time earlier today.
