Mishief Brew/Guignol Fight Dirty CD
$10.00
"Fight Dirty" is seven Mischief Brew songs with Guignol as backing band; six Guignol songs with Erik on guitar; a Django Reinhardt cover, and a barn-burning take on Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be They Name" (with Slavic Soul Party's Ben Holmes on trumpet). This is not a split. It's Guignol & Mischief Brew playing together as a five-piece band. It's apotheosis anthems for the carnies, the travelers, the gypsies, jazzmen, and lowlifes; singing Turkish-flavored reveries, odes to tax evasion, dirty tricks, and mob revolution; cumbia carols, sludge-metal reels, and a funeral march at a flooded bar.

Sometimes there's a band that has it so right that they just can't do any wrong. It's not just that they can't do wrong, but they seemingly can't do anything even the slightest bit short of perfect. For us that band is The Copyrights. Every song from every album, ep and comp they've been a part of has been a big hit in our ears. So it makes sense that we'd want to release anything and everything by them possible. Make Sound has been out for about a year now, but had yet to be pressed on vinyl. When the opportunity arose to release the vinyl version of the album we jumped at the chance. Just like their two albums before this one, Make Sound is comprised of all hits and no misses. You know an album is good when just about every track on it is in contention for the best sing-along anthem of the album. You know an album is good when reading the lyrics for the first time is as exciting as hearing the music for the first time. You know an album is good when these four guys get together and decide to bang another out. It's just that simple for us.

The Varsity Weirdos are back with their fourth release and first full-length album for It’s Alive Records. When everything has been done, go back to the start and do it again. Do it right. Do it better than it’s been done before. When it comes to classic pop punk it all starts and ends with the Ramones. The Varsity Weirdos are one of the few bands hanging from the Ramones family tree that somehow manage to take what’s been done, but make it sound all their own - a rare feat in the post Screeching Weasel and Queers world. They don’t do it by adding uneccesary extras for the sake of it. They don’t do it by merging the tried and true with some new and improved garbage. They simply do it by playing true to what they love. Sincerity goes a long way in a genre filled mostly with songs about bubblegum and the junior prom. You either hate the genre or you love it - there’s very little room for fence-sitting. Can’t Go Home might not make converts out of any of the haters, but it’s sure to serve as a strong reminder to all the lovers why they still give a shit about classic pop punk.

More specifically, The Delaware Octopus. And what's The Delaware Octopus? Shit if I know! But I can tell you it's catchy, it's clever, it's cynical and it's one of the best pop punk albums you're ever going to hear! Short, sweet and the point... whatever that point may be!

The Copyrights / The Dopamines "Songs About Fucking Up" 7"
$5.00
01 - Grown Folks Business (The Copyrights)
02 - Days Of Despair (The Copyrights)
03 - Try This Kids At Home (The Dopamines)
04 - October 24th (The Dopamines)
At some point the new-school becomes the old-school, or at least the not-so-new-school. The Copyrights were the new kids on the block seven years ago when they got started, but today have become a band that is inspiring newer, younger acts. The Dopamines are one of these bands. The Copyrights and The Dopamines sound far from identical to those that are already fans of the bands, but it's undeniable that there are similarities between the two - sharp hooks, anthemic singalongs and lots of group vocals to name a few. Another one of these shared characteristics is a recurring lyrical theme of shit being fucked and just fucking up in general in one way or another. Songs About Fucking Up is exactly that, set to the tune of some of the best melodic punk rock the underground has to offer today.

Mischief Brew/Joe Jack Talcum "Photographs from the Shoebox" LP

Two Philadelphia artists/bands team up: Mischief Brew delivers six songs, none of which sound anything alike! Meanwhile, Joe Jack Talcum (of The Dead Milkmen) lays down seven... meanwhile, BOTH ARTISTS do modern renditions of Dead Milkmen songs! This is a great Philadelphia split. Erik (from MB) grew up skateboarding to "Big Lizard in My Backyard," so it's fitting and a true honor to share vinyl with Joe.

Mischief Brew "Songs From Under the Sink" LP
$10.00
Anarcho-bard Erik Petersen casts forth another full-length to follow up 2005's "Smash the Windows," a collection of songs written between 1997-2002. As opposed to the gypsy-punk epics on "Smash," the songs on "Sink" are more stripped down, returning to Mischief Brew's roots with percussive acoustic guitar-abuse, mandolins, and junk percussion. The lyrics are twice as vicious, covering topics such as the Iraq War, the death penalty, police brutality, prisons...and of course alcohol and pyromania. Previously performed solely at basement shows, punk bars, and protests...and now on Mr. Yuk-green vinyl once and for all (500 green/500 black). The LP version also wields a unique rendition of "A Rebel's Romance" that will not be on the CD.

Mischief Brew "Jobs in Steeltown" 7"
$5.00
Between sessions for the split LP with Joe Jack (see above) and demos for future proper recordings, Mischief Brew banged out two gritty, bluesy, somber ditties about the ups and downs of decay. The a-side ("Jobs in Steeltown") paints a grey picture of working class towns robbed of their work... yet that is only the first verse and feeble "revitalization" attempts follow. The b-side ("The Barrel") is for anyone that loves the sight of weeds growing through pavement cracks.

Snakepit book: My Life in a Jugular Vein
$15.00
In a sense, despite turning the big 3-0, Ben Snakepit captures the same spirit in the comics he draws to summarise each and every day of nearly the last decade of his life. In his second collection condensing the last three years we see our hero move to and from Canada, tour the world with J Church, hang out with the Sainte Catherines, meet Mike Watt, get caught in the throes of whirlwind romances and we're there to watch helplessly as he gets his heart broken. There's also more pants-shitting, Adderall tripping and days of doing absolutely nothing to keep the old school fans happy. Also keeping with tradition there's a song allocated to each day.
This collection comes with a mix cd of some of those songs for the maximum Snakepit

DEFIANCE, OHIO - The Fear, The Fear, The Fear LP
$11.00
The Fear, The Fear, The Fear LP. D'OH return with 10 ten new songs! As unexpected as a new full album was so soon after "The Great Depression", we were equally so very happy when we heard it! This is exactly what we needed to get us through the day: direct, yet sometimes poetic and personal lyrics that touch on politics and daily life, lotsa instruments weaving in and out, great string interplay... exactly what the doc ordered. Both realistic and uplifting, all the while grounded and imaginative. This may well be their best yet. "The List" melts my brain every time. Oh yeah, and the art is cool... same kinda printing as last time, poster insert, etc.

The Peawees "Walking The Walk" LP
$11.00
The Peawees cranking out more of their meaty blend of rockabilly, punk rock, classic 50's rock-n-roll, rhythm 'n blues and Italian spice. But this time around there's a new ingredient added to the mix in the form of a heavy 60's soul sound that has never been as forwardly present on past albums as it is here.
